To tell you the truth, I'm ashamed to admit this now, when I found out that you exist, deep in the recesses of my heart, I resented you, because I knew, once you come out, your dad will never or seldom be available for the long talks, overnight inumans and until-morning gimmicks we have always had.

But looking at you now, all I feel is love... affection... wonder.

You have just sealed a lifetime of friendship and kinship between your father and I. You were loved from the time you were conceived, and now you are one of us, breathing the same air and hearing the same [house] music (hehe), you will be loved as you will never believe to be. cool! i became a tita-ninang last june, too! and my nephew/grandson is adorable. like your basti.

plus, i'm loving his name (i don't know why my kuya decided to mess up with the spelling of derek. he had to put in c's and whathaveyou. weird). i'm jealous now. i've always wanted to have a son and then name him "sebastian".

@cupcake: Beautiful name 'noh? I like the name 'Sebastian' too, but naunahan nako ni Raffy. Leche. But I'll think of something really groovy for my future son.

I feel this way for all of my inaanaks/nephews/nieces. It's such a joy to be with kids especially with my nephews and niece. I feel so carefree yet responsible. That's when I'm truly, really happy. Total bliss. =)

rob sebastian naman name ng 1-y-o nephew ko. basti din yung nickname, hehe! ;)
parang pinaghalong sebastian bach at rob thomas, astig, hehe! my lolo's nick is basti too...for some reasons, gusto ko talaga yung nick na basti. parang it's so manly, hehe! tunog chickboy, lol! ;)

Down and out.

When I got home from work today I went straight to my room, locked the door and laid on my bed, not bothering to change clothes or take off my thick boot socks. I laid there, staring at the ceiling, my room full of light from the window. I felt tired. I felt... lost. I felt cold, too. Dazed, I looked up at my air conditioner and found it be on. Weird. I don't remember turning it on. My head hurt. I sat up and grabbed my fleece blanket from the end of the bed and curled myself up underneath it. I snatched my teddy bears from their pedestal at the top of my bed and hugged them to me. Usually hugging them bears would comfort me, lull me to sleep, or better yet help me vent whatever frustration I had. But it was different this morning. There were no tears. None at all.
